After seven years of planning, the review platform MeinFreiwilligendienst.de officially went online on August 31, 2013. It was ceremoniously launched during the undjetzt?! conference 2013 at Schloss Tonndorf.
On MeinFreiwilligendienst.de, former volunteers can review their sending organization and describe their placement. The goal is to help future volunteers choose an organization that’s right for them, while also strengthening the voices of volunteers in discussions around quality and standards.
The verdict after three weeks of public beta testing in September 2013? It works—and really well. Not only from a technical perspective, but also in terms of acceptance. With more than 70 published reviews in just three weeks, the response far exceeded our expectations.
We’ve been especially pleased by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from sending organizations. They can register on MeinFreiwilligendienst.de and gain access to additional features, such as inviting their own volunteers to leave reviews. Several organizations have already made great use of this option.
We’re excited to see how the platform continues to grow in the coming weeks and months as awareness of MeinFreiwilligendienst.de increases.
